Eight Decades of
Faithful Gospel Ministry
From humble beginnings to a regional fellowship of over thirty-five congregations — our story is one of God's faithfulness across generations.
Where We Came From
The Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches, Quebec Region is the fruit of decades of prayer, sacrifice, and persevering faith by men and women who believed that Québec needed and deserved the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Our history is not merely the story of an organization — it is the story of ordinary believers who gathered in living rooms, rented halls, and modest church buildings to worship God, study His Word, and reach their neighbours. From those small beginnings, a regional fellowship has grown that now spans the breadth of Québec, serving dozens of congregations in French and English.
We trace our roots to the broader Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada — a movement born out of the fundamentalist controversy of the early twentieth century, committed to biblical inerrancy, the new birth, and the urgency of evangelism. In Québec, that movement took root in a context unlike any other in Canada — shaped by French-Canadian culture, Catholic institutional heritage, and the unique spiritual landscape of the province.
Key Milestones
A journey of faithfulness, growth, and Gospel advance across more than eight decades.
Early Foundations
The first evangelical Baptist congregations affiliated with FEB Canada begin ministry in the greater Montréal region, planting seeds that will eventually form the Quebec Regional Fellowship.
Regional Organization
The Quebec churches formally establish a regional fellowship structure, creating a framework for mutual support, shared resources, and coordinated church planting efforts.
French-Language Breakthrough
The first French-language evangelical Baptist congregation formally affiliates with the fellowship, marking a pivotal turning point in the ministry's engagement with Francophone Québec.
Pastoral Training Initiative
The Fellowship launches its first structured pastoral training program for Québec-based ministers, addressing the acute shortage of trained evangelical leaders in the province.
Quiet Revolution Response
Following the dramatic secularization of Québec society, the Fellowship recalibrates its missional approach — emphasizing personal faith, community, and contextualized evangelism for a post-Catholic generation.
Expanded Church Planting
A dedicated church planting fund is established, enabling the Fellowship to provide sustained financial and mentorship support to church planters throughout Québec.
Multicultural Ministry Expansion
With the rapid growth of Montréal's immigrant population, member churches launch multicultural ministries — welcoming newcomers from the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and Latin America into the fellowship family.
Current Regional Office
The Fellowship establishes its regional office at 255 Viau in Châteauguay — a central hub for administration, ministry coordination, and pastoral support across the Quebec region.
Youth & Next Generation Focus
The Fellowship launches a comprehensive youth ministry strategy, establishing inter-church youth gatherings, summer camps, and young adult programs to invest in the rising generation.
Vision 2030 Launch
The Fellowship adopts a bold five-year strategic plan — Vision 2030 — committing to plant ten new churches, train fifty ministry leaders, and strengthen every member congregation across Québec.
Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future
We are deeply grateful for those who came before us — the pastors who preached faithfully for decades in obscurity, the church planters who moved their families to new towns out of conviction, the lay leaders who kept churches alive through years of struggle and growth.
Their sacrifice and faith laid the foundation on which we now build. We honour them best not by preserving their methods but by inheriting their conviction — that Jesus Christ is worth everything, and that Québec is worth reaching.
As we look to the future, we do so with gratitude for the past, confidence in the God who has never failed us, and a burning desire to see the work of His Kingdom advance in Québec for generations to come.
Our Vision for the Future"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now."Philippians 1:3–5
